The Women in Interventional Pulmonology (WiIP) is a dedicated organization that aims to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for mentorship to each of our members. Our mission is to advance the standard and elevate the field of Interventional Pulmonology by offering opportunities for growth and development within the industry.

As we continue to evolve, WiIP will seek to define opportunities for collaboration in education, research, career advancement, and leadership development while also promoting the well-being of our members both professionally and personally. We are committed to working with regional, national, and international organizations to impact innovation and growth in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of thoracic diseases.

Jaspal Singh is Medical Director of Innovation and Quality in Pulmonary Oncology at Atrium Health and the Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, NC. He is active in several professional societies and passionate about enabling every pulmonary specialist to become proficient in bronchoscopic advancements.

Susan Garwood is the Physician Director, Pulmonary Services for HCA enterprise nationally and practices advanced bronchoscopy for Tri-Star Centennial Hospital in Nashville TN. She serves as the Thoracic Oncology Director for the Tri-Star Division of HCA in conjunction with Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute. Her passion is early stage detection of lung cancer through utilization of AI learning, lung cancer screening, with a focus on robotics and advanced bronchoscopy in a multidisciplinary approach. Making the average bronchoscopist great through mentorship and ongoing education is her driving force.

Mission: The Society for Advanced Bronchoscopy is dedicated to advancing the field of bronchoscopy through innovation, collaboration, and education. Our mission is to improve patient outcomes by fostering excellence in bronchoscopic techniques, research, and training. We aim to create a global community of healthcare professionals committed to pushing the boundaries of bronchoscopy, ultimately enhancing the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases.

Allied Health Professionals Committee

Mission: The Community Committee is a part of a multidisciplinary team. Numerous skill sets come together to impact patient outcomes by appropriately working with the advanced pulmonologists to get a quicker diagnosis and appropriate treatment initiated. All allied health professionals including Nursing, Radiology Technologists, Respiratory Therapists, specially trained patient navigators, patient advocacy organizations, etc. and others that work closely with the advanced pulmonologist are welcome to apply to work alongside the SAB. The goal of this committee is to provide a community that is inclusive to all that improve patient outcomes.
