20th WCBIP/WCBE World Congress Joint Meeting

Join the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota June 13-16, for the 2018 World Congress for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology and the World Congress for Bronchoesophagology. This biennial scientific meeting will offer the newest information about advances in technologies, education, and research to help you care for patients with lung, airway, and pleural disorders.
Preconference activities will include a series of hands-on workshops where you can practice technical applications of new and established interventional procedures. Skilled and experienced instructors will coach you through a variety of maneuvers helping you gain confidence to perform various procedures.
During the conference, there will be didactic lectures, interactive sessions, and expert panel discussions to highlight clinical problems and new scientific findings in pulmonary and airway diseases. There will be ample opportunity during the meeting and at the social gatherings to meet with WABIP/WCBE leadership, including committee chairs and international regents, to express your needs and tell us more about yourself and your region.
Target Audience
This course is designed for Physicians and care providers who care for patients with disorders of the larynx, pharynx, esophagus, and lungs. This course is designed to provide education for otolaryngologists, gastroenterologists, pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, for example.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Describe the appropriate steps in staging lung cancer
- Describe the appropriate use of cryobiopsies in the diagnosis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
- Define the proper use of endobronchial stents when managing major airway obstruction
- Describe the steps involved in the assessment and management of vocal cord dysfunction
- List the steps for tunneled pleural catheter placement
